Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent Coming Soon

The Delayed Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent Is Finally Releasing

Square Enix has officially confirmed the release of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent for mobile devices coming next month. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is a prequel single-player JRPG just like the original. Champions of the Continent will apparently take 60 hours of single-player gameplay to complete. This prequel was initially expected last year, but it has been delayed until next month. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is releasing for iOS and Android on October 28th.

Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent

Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent reached over 500,000 pre-registered accounts, and in celebration of the achievement Square Enix has shared new footage of the upcoming mobile JRPG. Most mobile gamers expect to see some multiplayer aspects in their games, but Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent is a single-player RPG. The mobile game will apparently take 60 hours to complete, setting up a lot of plot from before the original Octopath Traveller. The new footage focuses on the BGM theme of “The Playwright” Arguste (one of the enemies in the game).

Yasunori Nishiki, who worked on the original Octopath Traveller OST, is also handling the OST of Champions of the Continent so this mobile game is far from an inferior prequel to Octopath Traveller. While it isn’t going to be as extensive as the console games, Square Enix and Acquire stressed that this is the game to play between console releases. The next Octopath Traveller console game is in development, but Square Enix hasn’t shared anything in regards to that project. With the storyline getting so expanded upon, fans of Octopath Traveller should make sure their devices will run Champions of the Continent.
