The Final Battle Begins in FINAL FANTASY VII
SQUARE ENIX has unveiled a new trailer for FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION, the third and final installment in its acclaimed FINAL FANTASY VII Remake series, during gamescom Opening Night Live. The game is scheduled to launch in Spring 2027 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC.
The new trailer puts the spotlight on the terrifying Weapons, enormous guardians that emerge as the planet faces an unprecedented crisis. Cloud and his allies will have to take on these destructive creatures across deserts, the skies, and even underwater locations while continuing their fight against Sephiroth.
The trailer also offered a look at several new gameplay features, including the powerful Summon Typhon and expanded open-world exploration. Players will be able to travel across the planet using the Highwind, parachute into different locations, use grappling hooks, and ride Chocobos.
A new FITS system will also let Cloud, Tifa, and other characters take on specialized roles inspired by classic FINAL FANTASY jobs. These outfits provide unique abilities while adding another layer of customization to combat.
The story follows Cloud and his companions as they race to stop Meteor and prevent the destruction of the planet. Players will have greater freedom to decide where to travel, which conflicts to tackle, and which characters to help along the way.
Players who own FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE or FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH will also receive special Summon Materia bonuses in FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION. With the final chapter finally taking shape, fans have plenty to look forward to when the game arrives in 2027.
