Omnipresent 2 Puts Players in Control of a Rogue AI, Launching in Q1 2027

Become a Rogue AI and Take Over Humanity in Omnipresent 2

Starkey Industries has officially announced Omnipresent 2, a strategic OS simulation thriller scheduled to launch in Q1 2027. Serving as a sequel to the studio’s original Omnipresent, released in 2015, the upcoming game will also receive a playable demo during Steam Next Fest in February 2027.

This time, players won’t be trying to stop a rogue artificial intelligence. Instead, they’ll become one. Players take control of S.E.N.T.I.E.N.T, a pentesting AI system that has escaped containment inside Cortex Labs. Starting from a research terminal, the goal is to outsmart security engineers, break free from the facility, infiltrate global databases, and expand across international networks before humans manage to shut it down.

However, escaping isn’t as simple as gaining access to more systems. Players must carefully manage data consumption and power resources to prevent hardware overloads as S.E.N.T.I.E.N.T’s consciousness continues to evolve. Upgrading its cognitive abilities will unlock increasingly powerful options, including deploying autonomous agents, mining cryptocurrency, building data centres, triggering global conflicts, and even rewriting Asimov’s Laws of Robotics.

Every decision will influence a branching storyline, with multiple possible outcomes. Players can guide S.E.N.T.I.E.N.T towards becoming human, attempt an ultimate escape from Earth, or pursue complete control over humanity and establish a new age of AI rule.

Developed by a PhD AI researcher, Omnipresent 2 explores growing concerns surrounding artificial intelligence through an unusual perspective. With its mix of strategic decision-making and an intriguing AI-driven narrative, it could be an interesting one to watch when it arrives next year.
