EVILGARD Launches in Early Access This November for Fans of Classic MMORPGs

Prepare to Enter the World of EVILGARD

EVILGARD Interactive has announced that EVILGARD, an upcoming offline single-player RPG inspired by classic MMORPGs, will enter Early Access on Steam in mid-November 2026. The game aims to capture the sense of progression and adventure associated with traditional online role-playing games without requiring players to connect to a server or play with others.

EVILGARD

Built using the Godot engine, EVILGARD begins on the harbour island of Morgenwacht, where players can explore a persistent world filled with handcrafted quests and tactical party-based combat. The developers are focusing on delivering the familiar atmosphere of classic MMOs while building an experience designed entirely around solo play.

The game also adds a touch of dry humour, poking fun at some of the conventions that RPG fans will recognise. Alongside its fantasy adventures, players can expect a few unusual gameplay twists, including top-down naval combat and an experimental point-and-click section.

EVILGARD is currently available to wishlist on Steam, with development continuing ahead of its planned Early Access launch. The current focus is on expanding Morgenwacht into a connected adventure covering levels 1–10, alongside gameplay balancing and general polish.

The developers also have several features planned for future updates, including four story companions, additional classes and subclasses, active crafting, expanded dungeons, economic actors, and new regions. However, these additions will arrive over time and are not all guaranteed to be part of the initial Early Access version.

For players who miss the progression and atmosphere of classic MMORPGs but prefer exploring at their own pace, EVILGARD could offer an interesting alternative. Its Early Access launch should give players their first proper taste of what this solo RPG has to offer.
