Includes Permadeath For Some Reason
PowerPyx has uncovered some upcoming trophies for The Last of Us Part II that suggest Grounded Mode is on the way sooner rather than later. Naughty Dog released a Grounded Mode DLC for the first game, but we’ve yet to hear an official word on its release for Part 2. The appearance of the trophies means that maybe it’s coming soon? One can hope.
Grounded Mode is just the base game, only with some toughness modifiers. Listen Mode is offline, the fights are harder, and supplies are much more scarce. Apparently, there’s even a permadeath setting? That is, if the trophies are to be believed. All of this is allegedly tied to patch 1.03.
The two trophies uncovered by PowerPyx are “Dig Two Graves – Complete the story on Grounded,” and “You Can’t Stop This – Complete the story with any Permadeath setting.” It seems fairly cut and dried, assuming the leak uncovered is a legitimate one. If accurate, this means The Last of Us Part II fans will have even more reasons to dive back into the game.
