Prince of Persia May Be Getting Remade
Guatemalan retailer Max has officially listed a Prince of Persia remake for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. According to the retailer, the Prince of Persia remake can be expected to release in November 2020, despite the fact that Ubisoft never showed off the remake during their recent Ubisoft Forward event. While the release date is an estimate, the Prince of Persia remake hasn’t even been announced so such an early release would be a pleasant surprise. The Prince of Persia series has been lapsed for several years now, with the 2008 Prince of Persia available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and on the Xbox One through backward compatibility.
A Twitter user known as Ken Xyro quickly took to his account to announce the Guatemalan retailer’s leak, stating “hey psss… Prince of Persia REMAKE listings have appeared online. For now the game is listed for Nintendo Switch and PS4 with an estimated release date of November 2020.” While Max is an official Guatemalan retailer, it’s possible that they have this leak entirely wrong. If the remake of Prince of Persia releases in November of this year, it’ll join Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla as a big Ubisoft release that month.
The well known Jason Schrier quickly took to his official Twitter account after Ken Xyro proclaimed the Prince of Persia leak, simply saying “video game retailers sure love leaking Ubisoft’s surprise announcements.” Whether or not Prince of Persia remake will release in November is in question, but Max is offering pre-orders for the game, so this leak may have some validity to it. With another Ubisoft Forward expected for later this year, we expect to see a teaser trailer for the Prince of Persia remake if these leaks are accurate.
