Phil Spencer Congratulates Naughty Dog for TLOU2
The executive vice-president of Gaming at Microsoft, Phil Spencer has officially congratulated Naughty Dog for their development of The Last of Us Part II. Spencer apparently enjoyed his experience playing through The Last of Us Part II as he took to Twitter to congratulate Neil Druckmann and his team for a job well done. The Last of Us Part II will be receiving a next-gen version on the PS5 and Xbox has revealed an upcoming Xbox Series X game showcase coming later this year, giving gamers lots of next-gen titles to look forward to. The Last of Us Part II is exclusively available for the PS4 right now for PlayStation fans to experience what Phil Spencer is so impressed by.
“Congrats to you and the team on the success with a really great game. @Naughty_Dog,” said Phil Spencer on his official Twitter account in a response to Neil Druckmann. Druckmann then responded to Spencer’s Tweet with, “thanks, Phil! Looking forward to what y’all have coming.” While there are many aspects of the console wars that are toxic, it’s comforting to see industry figureheads celebrating each other and giving credit where it’s due.
Microsoft is continuing to show a positive attitude towards Sony, Nintendo and other gaming platforms and more games are becoming crossplay compatible as a result. While fans of each platform may fight with gamers on other platforms, it’s nice to see executives encouraging each other to continue producing and developing quality content. Just like Neil Druckmann, we’re looking forward to seeing what Xbox has in store for the upcoming Xbox Series X game showcase.
