The First Expansion to The Outer Worlds Is Peril on Gorgon
During the recent Xbox game showcase Obsidian Entertainment showed off several things, as well as a new expansion coming to The Outer Worlds known as Peril on Gorgon. The expansion takes players to a mysterious asteroid and it brings new science weapons and armor. Peril on Gorgon is part one of two story-based expansions coming to The Outer Worlds to expand what Obsidian Entertainment started with The Outer Worlds when it initially released in 2019. The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon is releasing this September 9th on Xbox One, PS4 and PC for $14.99, with an expansion pass that includes part two of the DLC available for $24.99.
The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon is coming soon, but the following expansion known as Murder on Eridanos won’t be expected until next year. Devoted The Outer Worlds fans who buy the expansion pass will save some money while securing the purchase of both expansion packs. Fans of the Obsidian RPG who play via Game Pass will also receive a 10% discount on the expansion pass, encouraging all fans already enjoying the game to get the full pass rather than buying it individually as a singular expansion.
Both The Outer Worlds and the upcoming narrative DLC content will be optimized for Xbox Series X when it releases later this year, with backwards compatibility available through Game Pass as well. Gamers who have completed the initial playthrough of The Outer Worlds are encouraged by Obsidian Entertainment to start a new game for the expansion pack, “perhaps with a different character build than your last playthrough. But you also should have a final save file where you can go back to experience the DLC all leveled up!”
