Call of Duty Mobile and Modern Warfare Seasons Delayed
Call of Duty Mobile and Modern Warfare have been hit with delays due to the current political climate, with developers saying now is not the time. Considering Call of Duty Mobile is developed by Tencent and TiMi Studios, while Modern Warfare is developed by Infinity Ward, this is a big undertaking. The Call of Duty community is one of the largest in gaming and many fans have voiced both displeasure and support for the delays. Modern Warfare is available for PS4, Xbox One and PC, while Call of Duty Mobile is exclusive to mobile devices.
“While we all look forward to playing the new seasons of Modern Warfare, Warzone, and Call of Duty: Mobile,” said the official Call of Duty Twitter account. “Now is not the time. We are moving the launches of Modern Warfare Season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 to later dates. Right now it’s time for those speaking up for equality, justice and change to be seen and heard. We stand alongside you.” Considering how many people are speaking out against injustice around the world, we’re impressed by Call of Duty’s strong stance and support their delays.
Modern Warfare was set to begin Season 4 yesterday, June 3 with new maps and Captain Price as a playable character but fans will need to wait a little longer to drop into the new season. Call of Duty Mobile would have started its seventh season this Friday, with new content being added to the mobile title as well. Considering COVID-19 and what has been going on in the world lately, we hope to see season 4 and season 7 receive huge launches when the time is right.
