Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Dev Talks Gameplay

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gameplay Still Pending

While Ubisoft and Xbox teased Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay for the most recent edition of Inside Xbox, they’ve since been met with backlash for under delivering. Creative director for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Ashraf Ismail, has taken to Twitter to empathize with fans who expected to see more gameplay during the gameplay reveal and promised to unveil more of what to expect from the viking Assassin’s Creed title soon. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be releasing this holiday season on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and Google Stadia.

“Hello all! You rightfully expected to see more,” said Ashraf Ismail on Twitter, addressing backlash regarding the lack of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay on the most recent edition of Inside Xbox. “We have a long marketing campaign ahead of us, you will see in-depth gameplay and get a lot more info about the game. Thank you for your excitement and passion! Be patient with us and be kind. It will be worth it!” The official gameplay trailer on Ubisoft’s North America YouTube channel has a high like to dislike ratio, with 32,000 dislikes compared to 18,000 likes, showing the disappointment from fans. The cinematic reveal trailer has 292,000 likes and just 12,000 dislikes by comparison.

The most recent Inside Xbox Series X games showcase was all about games coming to next-gen and while Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be releasing for current and next-gen consoles, it will be better optimized for the Xbox Series X and PS5. Ashraf Ismail isn’t the only person to apologize for the lack of gameplay on the recent Inside Xbox, with Aaron Greenberg saying that Xbox over promised and under delivered for the event as well.
