Gears Tactics Goes Gold and It’s Built for PC

Details on Gears Tactics Were Shared During Inside Xbox

During the recent Inside Xbox, Microsoft unveiled new details regarding Gears Tactics, including the fact that it has gone gold. Gears Tactics is apparently built from the ground up for PC but it’ll be properly optimized for Xbox One when it releases on April 28th. Due to the PC focus, Microsoft is offering the game for free with the purchase of an Intel Core i5 device or higher in a brilliant collaboration like so many we’ve seen before. When Gears Tactics releases later this month, it’ll be available through Game Pass for Xbox and PC, both available through Game Pass Ultimate for $10 per month.

Gears Tactics

The Coalition and Splash Damage came together to set the design focus for Gears Tactics, the technical build and strategic game mechanics for PC first, with Xbox in mind as the secondary platform. Gears fans will take on a Locust geneticist known as Ukkon which creates hordes of monsters. This character was first unveiled as part of the Rise of RAAM comic in 2018 and now the evil mastermind is one of the new villains brought to Gears Tactics.

Gears Tactics takes place 12 years before the events of Gears of War and Gears fans will follow Gabriel ‘Gabe’ Diaz and his squad. Kait Diaz is the protagonist in Gears 5 and Gabe is her father, giving existing fans of the series more of an idea of who he was. Gears Tactics features extensive customization unlike any other Gears of War game, from weapons and armor to class and skill customization. While this tactical title features many features that are new to the Gears series, fans of the series will see familiar executions, weapons and some characters.
