Modiphius Entertainment Developing a Dishonored Tabletop RPG
Modiphius Entertainment is working on a Dishonored tabletop RPG simply known as Dishonored: The Roleplaying Game. The game includes a 300-page rulebook which will give tabletop fans everything thing they need to “tell stories of occult lore, intrigue and drama.” The world from the Dishonored videogames is well established in the rulebook to help make the world feel more fleshed-out and lively. Modiphius Entertainment has apparently been working closely with Dishonored co-creative director Harvey Smith and a team of writers and artists from the game to get the tabletop RPG just right. Dishonored: Definitive Edition and Dishonored 2 are available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Modiphius Entertainment recently took to Twitter to announce their upcoming Dishonored tabletop RPG saying, “We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’re designing the #Dishonored 2d20 #rpg game based on the BAFTA award-winning video game series by @ArkaneStudios and in partnership with @Bethesda.” It’s clear that Modiphius is enthusiastic about the project and although Arkane Studios has been clear that fans shouldn’t expect Dishonored 3 anytime soon, this project should fill the void between now and then.
The Dishonored franchise is a great IP to implement into the tabletop RPG genre as the world is distinct from a lot of the other games out there, which may draw in some Dungeons and Dragons dungeon masters out of retirement. Dishonored: The Roleplaying Game will give fans of the series another avenue to explore the lore and world of Dishonored, especially if they want more details from the first two titles. This idea is a great way to bridge the gap between tabletop gamers and videogamers.
