Yakuza 7’s Life Experience System Is ‘Essential’ For Fighting Enemies and Going on Dates

Yakuza 7 Launches in Japan Next Month

Details for Yakuza 7’s new Life Experience system were revealed recently by SEGA. The upcoming open world turn-based RPG features a progression system that differs from the ones found in previous entries by having more complicated RPG features.

Yakuza 7

Yakuza 7’s protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, has six main Life Experience attributes to upgrade: Enthusiasm, Mentality, Cheerfulness, Kindness, Intelligence, and Stylishness. Ichiban can upgrade his Life Experience by completing side quests and going to Play Spots, which are special areas that can upgrade Life Experience after completing specific tasks.

Upgrading Life Experience will improve his combat skills and help with “meeting new characters and developing deeper relationships with girls.” Ichiban can also upgrade his Life Experience to get new jobs, hire employees, and access new areas.

Here’s a list of the benefits gained from upgrading the main attributes (per Gematsu):

  • By building up Enthusiasm, you will become resistant to the “Kiwami Skill Seal” status ailment.
  • By building up Mentality, you will become resistant to the “Sleep” status ailment.
  • By building up Kindness, you will become resistant to the “Rage” status ailment.
  • By building up Cheerfulness, you will become resistant to the “Fear” status ailment.
  • By building up Intelligence, you will become resistant to the “Brainwash” status ailment.
  • By building up Stylishness, you will become resistant to the “Charm” status ailment.

Yakuza 7 launches in Japan on January 16th, 2020 and arrives to the West sometime that year.
