The Witcher’s GWENT is Releasing on iOS in October

Popular Card Game GWENT is Releasing on iOS With New Controls

The popular Witcher 3 card game GWENT will be releasing on iOS on October 29th as a full release with a beta process leading up to then. Mobile gamers using iPhone 6S or newer, iPad Air 2 or newer, iPad Mini 4 or newer, iPad 5th gen or newer and any iPad Pro devices will be able to play the iOS version of the classic Witcher 3 card game. CD Projekt Red combines the full feature set of the PC version with new reimagined controls for the touch interface. New features will make the card game more satisfying but it’s mostly the GWENT all Witcher players are familiar with.

While pros are competing for GWENT superiority at the GWENT Challenger event, CD Projekt Red will unveil more details about the mobile release of the card game. The App Store listing for the game includes pre-registration and there’s apparently a beta that excited gamers can sign up for. There’s no current CD Projekt Red news about the card game coming to Android but it’s likely if it succeeds on iOS, it may succeed on Android as well, despite the fact that it’s a more saturated market.

Anyone with a 4K eligible device will be happy to know that GWENT supports 4K textures. Progress and purchases can be shared between PC and mobile, encouraging gamers to play both at home and on the go. Some balance changes made to the game allow gamers to be able to swap three cards instead of two at the beginning of a match and spy cards are more balanced now. While GWENT is free, microtransactions will likely include card packs so CD Projekt Red can continue to support the spin-off series. Some of the new features included are full 3D scenes when checking out cards and characters make comments during heated moments of the match.
