Upcoming Nintendo Direct Focuses on the Rest of 2019’s Big Switch Releases

What Surprises Are In Store for This Nintendo Direct?

A new Nintendo Direct livestream is scheduled for this Wednesday at 3 PM PT/6 PM ET, Nintendo announced Tuesday. According to Nintendo, the 40-minute presentation will focus on upcoming Switch titles such as Pokémon SwordPokémon Shield and Luigi’s Mansion 3.

Now, for some reasonable speculation: Other games that’ll probably be shown during the Direct are the Link’s Awakening remake that’s coming out later this month and Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair (which launches for the Switch in October).

There could also be more info revealed for Animal Crossing New Horizons along with a release date or release window. The latest Animal Crossing game got delayed to next year so that its developers wouldn’t be overworked.

Finally, there’s the possibility that we’ll get to learn more about the Nintendo Switch Lite before it hits store shelves in a few more weeks. If you’re interested, check out our hands-on impressions article.

Less reasonable speculation: The rumored Assassin’s Creed IV port could get revealed. After all, the Switch version of Assassin’s Creed III Remastered was announced during a Direct.
