Halo 5 and the Master Chief Collection Still Carry the Xbox One Exclusives
NPD Analyst Mat Pascatella the best-selling titles and best selling exclusives on the Xbox One with Halo 5: Guardians remaining at the top of the list after nearly four years on the market. The chief appears again in the top 3 as part of the Master Chief Collection which merges the first four installments of the Halo franchise into one optimized experience. Halo 5: Guardians and the Master Chief Collection are both available now on Xbox One or PC as part of the Play Anywhere titles.
The numbers taken into account for the list of exclusives ignores the Play Anywhere PC numbers which likely further increases the Master Chief’s lead as people on PC flock to the red versus blue battlefields. Forza Horizon 3 and 4 are part of the top ten exclusives list, as are Forza Motorsport 5 and 6, continuing to prove that the Forza franchise is one of, if not the greatest open world racing game and simulation racing experience respectively. Other titles included in the list of top ten exclusive Xbox One titles includes Sea of Thieves and Gears of War 4.
The list of best-selling titles for Xbox One is apparently quite similar to the PS4 list of the same name. Rounding off the top three are Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: WWII and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Advanced Warfare are also included in the top ten, proving that Call of Duty is a success on every generation but Black Ops IIII failed to beat it’s prequel in sales, ending up at fourth place. Red Dead Redemption II, Destiny 2, Star Wars: Battlefront (2015) and Battlefield 1 are also included in this primarily FPS top ten best-sellers list.
It’s too bad that with Cuphead’s tremendous success on the Xbox One, it’s not part of either the exclusive top ten or the list of other titles, as it ended up on the Nintendo Switch but it’s no shock that Forza and Halo carry the Xbox One exclusives.
