Origin and EA Access Add Anthem
As part of the Origin Access September update, BioWare’s Anthem was added among other titles such as Yooka-Laylee and The Escapist 2. Anthem has been made more of a complete package with post-launch updates such as the Cataclysm but it still has a lot of work to do according to BioWare and EA themselves. This move to EA and Origin Access will likely boost the dwindling player count of the sci-fi RPG third-person-shooter that is Anthem. Origin Access is available on PC for $5 per month and EA Access is the same price but is available on PS4 and Xbox One.
Fifa 20 is another very notable title coming to the monthly EA services as it includes a 10 hour play first trial with career mode as well as Fifa Ultimate Team. Knowing Fifa is one of the largest game franchises in the world, it’s nice to know gamers have another place they can access it just as they can now access Anthem; on EA and Origin Access. Other titles included in the September Access lineup are Out of the Park Baseball 20, Ultimate Chicken Horse and Vambrace.
If gamers are feeling like spending a little extra cash on the EA and Origin Access subscriptions, they offer access to the Vault for $30 per month that includes access to games from a number of developers and publishers including EA. We thought Anthem was a squandered opportunity but see the potential in bringing it to an acceptable level through the games as a service model but it doesn’t seem like Anthem will be getting too many new players without making jumps to subscription services like this one.
