This Guy Was Born to Play Marcus Fenix
Former WWE superstar and now actor Dave Bautista has been very adamant about making a Gears of War movie a reality. Bautista is probably best known now for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy. Bautista feels like it is his destiny to branch out and play the main character of the series, Marcus Fenix. As much as Bautista and millions of fans would like to see this. The wrestler turned actor is not very optimistic about this coming to fruition.
A Gears of War movie has been in the works for a very long time. Information about the film has been limited at best. Rod Fergusson, the director has stated that the movie will exist separate from the original video games. That means that we are probably not going to be Marcus Fenix on the big screen. Which means that the chances that Dave Bautista is going to play him are even lower.
However, just because it doesn’t look like Marcus Fenix will be in the movie, does not mean Dave Bautista can’t play a role in the film. It could be a not so subtle nod to the audience if a guy who looks like Marcus Fenix is playing the main protagonist of the film.
Bautista has been very public about his desire to have some sort of role in the upcoming movie. He recently tweeted out in response to fans begging that Bautista get a spot in the main cast. “They’re listening. And they could give AF! .. but thank you for the support. Believe me when I say I’ve tried everything to make this happen” Bautista responded. From the sounds of it, some higher-ups have made up their minds. Not even Dave Bautista gets what he wants sometimes.
