Either Way, Probably Not Meant to Be Posted
Just a few days ago, Borderlands 3 was officially announced at PAX East. It has a sweet trailer promising over a billion guns, but no release date. Earlier today of all days, the official Borderlands Twitter account tweeted out a short-lived message. Thanks to Wario64, that tweet was salvaged for the internet to gaze upon. This tweet claimed that September 13th would be the Borderlands 3 release date. It was accompanied by a short video saying “Mayhem is Coming” which appears to be a theme in the teasers and trailers. Given that this was sent out and deleted on April 1st, it’s hard to take it very seriously.
The short teaser video has a few logos in the corner. There’s the developer Gearbox, publisher 2K, and what’s this? An Epic Games Store logo? Ooh! That’s bound to spark some discussion. That inclusion is certainly no confirmation that Borderlands 3 will be an Epic Games Store exclusive, but there’s no Steam logo either.

After the trailer came out at PAX East, some theorized that the release date was hidden right in front of our eyes. If this theory is right, the release date would be October 1st. Whatever the case, the tweet sent out today was probably a poor April Fool’s Day joke. I bet someone got a stern talking to after it was deleted. Anyway, no OFFICIAL release date for Borderlands 3 as of yet. We are hoping to see it before the end of 2019 though.
