Ubisoft Toronto Was Working on a Splinter Cell Game After Blacklist

Splinter Cell Fans Have Been Waiting for a While for a New Game Since Blacklist’s Release

Ubisoft Toronto, the studio behind 2013’s Splinter Cell Blacklist, was developing a new game in the series after Blacklist launched, according to the studio’s former managing director and founder, Jade Raymond.

In an interview with Gamereactor earlier this month, Raymond said that Ubisoft Toronto had “a [Splinter Cell] design that we actually had and worked on and would have wanted to make”. However, Raymond declined to reveal more since she no longer works for Ubisoft and didn’t know “who wants to share that concept.”

There have been multiple past news developments that have hinted that a new Splinter Cell game could be in the works. In March, a Splinter Cell game listing was spotted on Amazon Canada and a pre-E3 Walmart Canada leak that occurred in May listed a new game in the series alongside many other games that were unannounced at the time. However, Ubisoft’s E3 conference came and went without a Splinter Cell announcement.

In September, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot reportedly said that he couldn’t confirm that a new entry was being made. But, according to Ubisoft’s chief creative officer, it’s “a question of means” when it comes to series protagonist Sam Fisher making a comeback.
