Rocksteady Co-Founder: Rumored Superman Game Isn’t Happening

Rocksteady Was Rumored To Be Making a Superman Game For a While Now

Rumors about Batman Arkham developers Rocksteady Studios developing a Superman game were confirmed to be untrue on Friday, according to a tweet from the studio’s co-founder. The co-founder also confirmed that the studio won’t be making an announcement at The Game Awards next week.

“Looking forward to this year! We’re still hard at work in our development bunker so don’t expect an announcement from @Rocksteadygames,” the co-founder, Sefton Hill, tweeted. “When it’s ready to show, you’ll be the first to know. Spoiler: it’s not Superman”.

Rumors about the studio developing a Superman game have been going around ever since the last major entry of their Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Knight, released back in 2015. After all, they succeeded with one iconic DC Comics superhero so why not take a crack at another?

There was also the fact that, at the time, Rocksteady were the one of the few developers who were able to release a consistently well-received superhero game series so rumors about the studio making a Superman game certainly seemed believable.
