A Recent Job Listing from WB Montreal Sparks Rumors About an Upcoming Superman Game
A recent job listing from Warner Bros Montreal has reignited rumors about a potential Superman game. The studio is actively recruiting for a Senior Gameplay AI Programmer for “a new AAA title.”
“WB Games Montreal, a division of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, seeks a Senior Gameplay AI Programmer to work with its game development team responsible for a new AAA title,” the devs wrote on their careers page.
“In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of AI cross-platform and algorithms, including the behavior of non-player characters and navigation in the game,” they added.
Last June, the Superman fans were sent into a frenzy when it came to light that WB Montreal was working on a brand new DC-related IP. “We are best known for our game Batman: Arkham Origins,” their website reads. “Our studio is focused on developing games that expand the DC universe in the interactive space.”
The devs have neither confirmed nor denied if they were, indeed, working on a Superman game. However, a prestigious leaker within the DC gaming community has revealed that the project this upcoming AAA title is definitely going to be a Superman game.
This leaker has a pretty interesting track record. Whoever this leaker is certainly has some insight into DC’s interactive efforts. The same person was responsible for revealing to the gaming world that Rocksteady was working on a Suicide Squad game way before they unveiled Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Devs have kept mum about this new project to date. With that said, it is likely at least a few years away from an official announcement. Still, this fact has not deterred DC fans from hoping that it is going to be a Superman title.
