Pirate Life Has Never Looked So Brutal
During today’s conference, Ubisoft premiered a new trailer for their pirate action-adventure title Skull & Bones, as well as a heap of new gameplay footage.
The game will sport single player and 5v5 modes, in which players can choose from a slew of ships and customize them to their dirty hearts desires. Much like the naval combat in the Assassin’s Creed games (which is undoubtedly the very foundation of this game), battles start by firing at ships from a distance and end with close quarters combat on the decks of battling vessels. Players can also change sails to trick enemies into believing they’re friendly, and if they are indeed friendly, well, it’s pirate life, you don’t really have any friends, but you can build up fleets to come to your defense whenever you’re attacked.
In single-player mode, players will live typical pirate lives, destroying and looting rival ships and fighting against the Empire in the Indian Ocean.
On top of all this, Ubisoft announced that players can sign up for a chance to play the shared world title early on the game’s official website, and is set to launch in 2019. Here’s hoping the game sports the same badass sea-shanty soundtrack as its predecessor.
