New PUBG Patch Is Live with a Free Weapon Skin

PUBG to Add Free Weapon Skin to Players in New Patch

The newest PUBG patch is now live on the main servers, which added new weapon skins and two new crates to the game. To celebrate this launch, PUBG is offering all players a free weapon skin for the SCAR-L gun.

The weapon skins update, which went live on PC earlier this morning, introduced the new weapon skins system to PUBG, which came with a menu re-haul to allow you to manage all the individual skins. The only way to get these skins, however, are through the two new crates added in this patch.

These crates are called ‘Triumph’ and ‘Raider’. The Triumph crate is a paid crate which has a random weekly drop rate of 20%, and can only be opened with a Weapon Cosmetic Key. The Raider crate, on the other hand, is free to all players.

Triumph crates will be joining the BP purchase crate pool, which means you could end up with one when doing your weekly crate shop. The Raider crate will be available to buy directly, however, and has a starting price of 1200 BP, but the price will increase with each crate you buy.

The free skin, shown below, for the SCAR-L can be yours if you simply just log in to PUBG at any point from now until May 1st. Similarly to the ‘Winner, winner, chicken dinner t-shirt’ that was added at the end of early access, this skin cannot be traded, or destroyed.

As I mentioned, this update is currently only live for PC players, so Xbox One and PS4 players will need to stay tuned to find out when the update will be heading their way!

This update comes off the shoulders of the most recent update to PUBG, which added new custom game modes.
