One of the Lesser-Known Characters of the DCU Comes as a Pleasant Surprise
As the biggest roster of NetherRealm’s fighting game unfolds, we learn that the next character in Injustice 2 is none other than Swamp Thing. This beast of the sylvan realm carries on in DC lore as one of the most unique anti-heroes. Watch his fighting style as he beats the snot out of opponents in the latest gameplay trailer:
Arguably equipped with one of the most creative special moves thus far, Swamp Thing spawns as a powerhouse of earthly justice.
Starting off as the main character of his own horror comic book storyline, Swamp Thing eventually transitioned into DC  when publishers saw his potential. Rather than post him as your standard villain of superficial significance, he became a neutral force in the DC universe. As you can no doubt tell from his in-game dialogue, Swamp Thing is as green as green gets. His purpose in the DCU is protecting nature from the likes of evil AND good.
But we’ll get to see a lot more of Swamp Thing when Injustice 2Â rolls out on May 16 for PS4 and Xbox One. Until then, more news keeps coming and we’re eager to give it to you. Stick around for more reveals as they come.
Ed Boon hinted earlier that their would be some more lesser-known characters in this game than the previous one. Looks like he wasn’t kidding. This latest character comes as a nice surprise and we’re left to wonder what other quality characters will receive their spotlight. Time will tell.
