Newest Resident Evil has Shipped 2.5 Million Copies Since its Launch
Capcom has released the latest numbers regarding the Resident Evil franchise. The newest installment, Resident Evil 7, has shipped 2.5 million copies.
These numbers don’t reflect total sales, merely what Capcom has shipped since the game launched. Digital sales are also not accounted for, meaning the game’s initial sales figures are likely even higher. The company’s projected sales for RE7 are set at 4 million by March of 2017, a target that seems easily within reach.
While not an accurate reflection of sales, the demo for the game was downloaded 7.15 million times. If even half of those people decide to buy, that will pretty much get Capcom to their desired quarterly goals.
This data was released alongside total sales figures for the series, which are currently at 75 million. This puts Resident Evil way in front as Capcom’s most successful game series. Considering how early we are into the game’s release cycle, things are looking good for the newest chapter of the legendary horror saga.
