Early Copy of No Man’s Sky Sells For $2K on eBay, Looks Like A Fake

Early Copy of No Man’s Sky on eBay is a Fake

Today, we learned that an apparent PS4 copy of No Man’s Sky has been sold for $2,000 on eBay. It was sold on eBay two weeks ahead of its official release. Unfortunately, that copy appears to be a fake.

No Man's Sky Fake

The copy, sold by eBay user walke-jim, and at first glance it certainly appears to be real. The listing is accompanied by images of the game’s box, disc and its icon on the PS4 home screen.

Yet, when you take a closer look you’ll notice the inlay inside the box is a marketing leaflet for No Man’s Sky with a release date. The release date should not be listed inside the game or at least it is pretty rare to see something like that inside the box.

Twitter user milkybar1983 also believes it to be a fake. He says the copy appears to be fake, with the top of the disc label appearing to have been misaligned.

Other copies, however, have surfaced out in the wild, with another alleged image of the game’s disc being shared to Reddit.

One real copy has surfaced and the lucky gamer was nice enough to post his early impressions up for everyone to see… and be jealous over!

What do you think? Is it a fake? Bootleg copy? Tell us in the comments below.
