Ranking the Top 3 Obscure Games of 2018

Here at COGconnected we try to keep you informed on all games, big and small. We want to make sure the little indies have a chance to stand shoulder to shoulder with the big AAA games but what you probably don’t know is that we easily have hundreds of these lesser known games come across our collective table, itching for a chance to have its name shouted from the rooftops. We have proudly taken as many opportunities as we can to give each and every one of these obscure games the chance they deserve, and with that in mind we present to you the top 3 Best Obscure Games of 2018. Maybe you know all of them, maybe you haven’t heard of any of them, but these are ones you absolutely must take a closer look at. Enjoy.

The Swords of Ditto came out on top as our top Obscure Game of 2018, and for all the right reasons. While it may not have received much attention, the game offers solid gameplay, procedurally generated dungeons, and a repeating story that takes the rogue-like genre to blend it with classic Zelda styling and an overarching narrative that begs you to keep playing. It’s beautiful, its wholesome, and it is a nearly perfect depiction of what it means to be a kid and play again. If you haven’t already played Swords of Ditto we greatly recommend you give it a shot immediately!
