Dishonored 2 – Bethesda – PC, PS4, Xbox One (Nov 11)
Corvo Attano is back but this time he’s not alone. The empress Emily Kaldwin is all grown up and boasts a plethora of skills as she joins Corvo as a playable character in Dishonored 2. Emily has been dethroned as the Empress of Dunwall and the empire is in a downward spiral. We previewed the game at a recent event in LA and not only were we left wanting more we were genuinely excited to have Emily joining the fight. Boasting a set of powers and abilities all her own she’s a welcome addition to the Dishonored formula. Luckily, there isn’t much time to wait on this one as it releases in just over a week on November 11th.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Activision – PC, PS4, Xbox One (Nov 4)
Love it or hate it the Call of Duty franchise is one of the biggest and most successful franchises in all of gaming. This year’s entry takes players to space and has had the rockiest promotional campaign of any Call of Duty to date. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has received more hate from the gaming community than almost any game in recent memory. Despite this, many journalists who have gotten their hands on the game say that you shouldn’t count the series down yet. In fact, our own Trevor Houston attended a multiplayer event and he felt the game was more fun than ever saying, “The online gameplay stays true to the franchise recipe for success; it’s fast, a rush and addicting as heck. There is no question Infinite Warfare will be the deepest multiplayer experience to date as the choices and options are endless.” You can judge for yourself on November 4th!
Tyranny – Paradox Interactive – PC (Nov 10)
PC gamers, role-playing fans in particular, have a lot to be excited about with the Obsidian Interactive developed Tyranny dropping on November 10th. Building and improving upon the engine and gameplay of the critically well-received Pillars of Eternity can only mean good things for the players. Another one of the games we were able to go hands-on with at E3 this year we noted that the improved gameplay felt deep and engaging while the branching narrative had us intrigued right from the start. The only question we have moving forward is if Obsidian can deliver another RPG masterpiece? We’re confident in saying they most likely will.
SPECIAL MENTION
Robinson: The Journey – Crytek/Sony Interactive – PSVR (Nov 8)
Last up this month we have something for the early adopters of Sony’s PlayStation VR. Developed by Crytek perhaps best known for the stunning Crysis franchise, Robinson: The Journey puts you in the shoes of Robin, a boy left stranded on the planet Tyson III after the ship he was on, the Esmerelda is forced to make a crash landing. He must rely on his wits – and HIGS, one of the ship’s AI units – to survive. As he searches for the lost crew and comes face-to-face with dinosaurs, Robin discovers that Tyson III is not the paradise once promised. Looking to set the bar for what’s capable in PSVR, Robinson: The Journey launches on November 8th.
Now the only question left to ask is of all the video game releases on schedule, what are you picking up this month?
