Top 6 Video Game Releases to Watch in November

Top 6 Video Game Releases to Watch in November

It’s been a great lead up to the 2016 holiday season with October seeing a ton of great games hit retail. Here at COG we’ve covered it all from Battlefield 1, WWE 2K17 and Gears of War 4 to Civilization VI, Titanfall 2, and Mafia III. Not only that we saw the release of the stunning looking Gears of War 4 Xbox One S and the much anticipated PlayStation VR. Now we get to look forward to November and while it’s not quite as stacked as October it still boasts a ton of great games to add to your collections. With a little something for everyone, let’s dive into the top 6 video game releases to watch for the month.

Watch Dogs 2 – Ubisoft – PC, PS4, Xbox One (Nov 15)

Watch Dogs is back with a new lead character in Marcus Holloway and a host of new improvements. The original Watch Dogs wasn’t as well received as Ubisoft had hoped but the potential for the franchise was undeniable. Rather than cut and run they decided to listen to fan feedback and give it another shot. Marcus is a much more vibrant character than former lead Aiden Pearce and while that’s a breath of fresh air it’s nice to know that there’s much more in store than just him. After previewing the game back at E3 2016 we were left more than impressed with what Ubisoft has in store. Improved driving mechanics, more abilities than ever, an entertaining surrounding cast and well-implemented coop gameplay make Watch Dogs 2 a big game to keep your eyes on this month.

Pokemon Sun and Moon – Nintendo – 3DS (Nov 18)

You never really have to say much to get fans pumped up about a new Pokemon release. Our very own Andrew Pereira, a self-admitted Poke-junky got his hands on the Pokemon Sun demo and was left impressed saying, “The franchise has never looked better. Everything from the characters to the buildings to the menu screens to the Pokemon themselves are all beautifully designed and fluid. In traditional Pokemon fashion, the music is also delightfully catchy with subtle changes to the iconic riffs we’ve all come to know and love.” That’s high praise for a series that runs the risk of becoming stale after so many releases. But, Nintendo rolls on with their biggest franchise next to Mario (or is it bigger now?) with Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon this November 18th.

Final Fantasy XV – Square Enix – PS4, Xbox One (Nov 28)

If any one game on this month’s list of games to watch out for has high expectations to meet it is undoubtedly Final Fantasy XV. One of the most iconic franchises in all of gaming has seen its fair share of ups and downs over the years and excitement for the latest installment couldn’t be much higher. Join Noctis on the planet Eos for a game said to be a major departure from previous games, providing a darker atmosphere that focuses on more realistic environments and human characters than previous entries. Promising to be an epic entry into the franchise we can’t wait to see how it turns out. If you’re not already pumped about FFXV perhaps this trailer might do the trick. It’s absolutely amazing.
