3. Darkest Dungeon II – May 8
I honestly thought Darkest Dungeon II was already released. It’s one of those games that’s been available in early access for forever, and its proper release was originally scheduled for February 2023. But apparently we’re finally getting it this month, and it’s an obvious entry in The Top 5 Video Games Arriving in May 2023. For those who haven’t played the original, it’s a horror-themed turn-based RPG that also happens to be one of the key games that popularized the roguelike genre. Darkest Dungeon II is a PC exclusive for now, but console releases are planned.
2. Redfall – May 2
Redfall is a first person shooter made by Arkane Studios, the folks who brought us the Dishonored series. It’s one of the few massive releases that Xbox has locked down as an exclusive. Redfall is about a town overrun with vampires and features 4 playable characters that all look like they’ll play pretty differently from one another. The Top 5 Video Games Arriving in May 2023 feels like it’s been dominated by PC and Xbox releases, and Redfall is no exception.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – May 12
Duuuuuuuuuuhhh! The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is one of the most beloved video games of all time. Tears of the Kingdom is going to feature the open world gameplay introduced in Breath of the Wild, but the world is gonna take cues from Kid Icarus, and go vertical. This is going to be a must-play for anyone who’s a fan of third person adventure games. It will likely have all the Nintendo fans rally behind it when it’s time for Game of the Year awards. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a Switch exclusive, and an obvious choice as the #1 game in The Top 5 Video Games Arriving in May 2023.
Do you agree with our choices? Is it fair to assume Legend of Zelda games will be amazing? Let us know in the comments.
Thank you for keeping it locked on COGconnected.
