3 Up, 3 Down – June 2021
As we pass the halfway point of 2021, we can take a look back at June 2021. With some of the biggest games of the year releasing, the month is sure to have some great games. But as always, with the good come the bad, let us take a look at the best and worst games of June 2021.
Mario Golf: Super Rush
The Mario sports titles will always hold a special place in our hearts, and Mario Golf: Super Rush is no exception. The Mario Golf series makes its way onto the Nintendo Switch and finds itself landing squarely on the green. In our review, we found that “with an incredible story mode that will keep you hooked throughout and the returning cast of characters in fresh golfing garb, it’s clear Nintendo has hit a glorious stripe down the fairway.”
Guilty Gear Strive
Though never able to replicate the success of other big fighting games, the Guilty Gear franchise remained a fan favorite. Enter Guilty Gear Strive which dazzles with visuals, deep gameplay, and lots of content. In our review, we conclude that “being the most accessible game in the history of the franchise, newcomers should definitely check out this fighter as it’s one of the best ever made.”
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
Likely the biggest game of the month, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart brings the beloved franchise onto the PS5 as a true next-gen experience. In our review, we noted that the game has something for everyone, with “fast and satisfying combat and gameplay, absolutely jaw-dropping good looks, a fantastic score, and narrative design, writing, and acting that could be plugged right in as the next Pixar film.”
