The Big 5 – The Five Biggest Games of May 2016

Homefront: The Revolution – Deep Silver – May 17 (Multiplatform)

There’s no doubt that things could end up dicey for Deep Silver’s upcoming game, Homefront: The Revolution. Three of the COGconnected team were able to get into some early multiplayer beta action and the verdict was that the war-themed shooter was a pretty steamy, hot mess. Since that beta there has been some buzz building that the development team took the criticism to heart, and that the final release of Homefront will be much better than the beta seemed to show. We’ll definitely be reviewing the game, but have to admit we’re going in with a bit of trepidation. Still, this is a big game with bigger money behind it so it deserves a spot on the Big 5. Final verdict remains to be seen…

DOOM – Bethesda – May 13 (Multiplatform)

It’s back, baby! DOOM takes players back to the Red Planet to face the demon hordes and we could not be more excited about it. While there were a few things we were concerned about after playing the Closed Beta, our overall outlook was very positive. According to iD Software Executive Producer, DOOM will be equal parts “badass demons, big effing guns, and moving really fast,” and in our books that sounds like just what the doctor ordered. In the 2016 version of the long standing horror shooter, you’ll get Demon Runes which will infuse players with their own demon fuelled powers of destruction and mayhem… and really, how awesome does that sound? May 13 can’t come soon enough, time to load up that BFG!
