Ranking 2015’s Xbox One Exclusives from Worst to First

13 – Massive Chalice

Ah yes, the fine offerings of Double Fine. Forgoing their usual quirkiness this turn-based strategy game pits you against an evil force attempting to conquer your lands. Who are you? Well you’re the immortal ruler of your kingdom obviously. Getting its start on Kickstarter it was released to decent scores but failed to make much of an impact even after being released for free as part of the Games with Gold program.

12 – Plague Inc: Evolved

In Plague Inc: Evolved the player controls a plague which has infected patient zero. The player must infect and kill the whole world population by evolving the plague and adapting to various environments. First released on mobile this port to the Xbox One is still in early access but has already seen some scores rolling in. As it stands the only reason it ranks lower on the list is that we’ve yet to see the game fully in action.

11 – SMITE

Up until recently the world of MOBAs have been primarily a PC only endeavour. As the popularity of the genre skyrockets however, it is inevitable that we see it make its way to consoles too. SMITE, while released on PC in 2014, made its console debut on the Xbox One in August. Choosing from over 70 gods to fight with from seven different mythologies means there’s something for nearly every style of player. Rapidly rising up the ranks in e-sports this one is around for the long haul.

10 – Starpoint Gemini 2

*** FULL REVIEW ***

Starpoint Gemini 2 dropped onto the console in the beginning of December. This full 3D space combat sim and RPG was an absolute blast to play. Although it currently ranks somewhere in the low 70’s on Metacritic we found it to be just a wee bit better than that as we ‘released our inner Captain Kirk’.
