Red Dead Redemption 2 is the ultimate cowboy simulator. While the initial Rockstar cowboy game had people taking control of John Marston who’s out for revenge, but Red Dead Redemption 2 follows the Van der Linde gang and the hero of the title, Arthur Morgan. Although this title includes a lot of small systems like feeding the rest of the gang members and brushing your horse, it uses others such as personal hygiene and gambling to further enrich the wild west. The large map covers vast swaths of American landscapes, allowing you to roam around your ideal climate to hunt animals or bounties to your hearts content. The fishing in Red Dead Redemption 2 is just as rich as the hunting, with a map to legendary fish making it a collectathon. Some achievements and trophies are very difficult to unlock, which will have gamers putting countless hours into hunting every last easter egg. While Red Dead Redemption 2 is the perfect cowboy simulator and people who manage to fully complete the campaign may try out the RDR2 Online experience which is like a completely different game. If cowboys aren’t your thing, there’s also a pirate simulator known as Sea of Thieves.
5. Halo: Master Chief Collection (Xbox One, PC)
There’s a reason that Microsoft could depend on Bungie’s original FPS hit Halo to sell the original Xbox console: it perfects the futuristic space FPS formula. While the titles vary in quality from the first one to the fourth one, with the bundle including the ODST and Reach spinoffs, the Halo games are all good. Halo 3 was the title that truly captivated me, being the title that sold me on buying a 360, but fans of each installment will be able to appreciate their ideal Halo with modernized multiplayer. The Halo: Master Chief Collection also includes playlists for fans to enjoy such as Social 4v4 and Ranked Team Hardcore. Gamers can do Sniper or launchers only just like back in the day and the more they mess with settings, the more potential the game has to extend its way through quarantine and beyond. The campaigns of all these games combined will take dozens of hours but the true fun of Halo is the online multiplayer and this Collection brings the maps from each installment available on one package. PC fans were calling for Halo to return to the platform for so long and now they have the definitive experience at their disposal.
