COGconnected’s Holiday 2019 Gear Guide
These days, you need more than a game console and a game to complete the gaming experience. For gamers, you need that extra gear to maximize the experience. For PC gamers, that could be a new mouse and keyboard. For console gamers, that could be a new controller. For streamers, that could mean a new microphone. Whatever the need, we’ve compiled a list of gear we’ve reviewed over the past year that might be perfect for that special someone in your life. However, it’s worth noting that we haven’t included headsets in this gear guide – we’ve created an entirely separate guide for headsets, so keep an eye out for that.
“There is no denying the Gears 5 Razer Turret is an awesome package for Gears fans who prefer gaming on a keyboard and mouse set up. This ideal Christmas gift does have a rather hefty price tag, but you are getting top-notch accessories that will surely stand the test of the time. This isn’t a disposable keyboard and mouse that will only last you a year or two.”
Perfect for: Xbox One gamers.
Budget: Over $200
“if you’re looking to kickstart a streaming career, those vibrant, reactive emotes could be an excellent hook. Even without public broadcasting in mind, the quality is damn high. The input is set to work from a greater distance than other studio mics, while the background noise is kept to a minimum.”
Perfect for: Streamers
Budget: Over $200
“the Microsoft Pro Intellimouse is a remarkably sleek, comfortable and smooth mouse. Even during prolonged and intense gaming sessions, the Pro Intellimouse delivers. While the mouse lacks some of the other features you’ll find on other gaming mice and the price point is a tad high, this mouse is easily one of the better mice on the market and a perfect peripheral for all your PC non-gaming and gaming needs.”
Perfect for: PC gamers
Budget: Over $50
“A low-latency, battery-free USB Type C adapter that you can plug into your Nintendo Switch for Bluetooth 5 compatible headphones. It can accommodate two sets of headphones for multiplayer sound too – perfect for local multiplayer sessions!”
Perfect for: Switch gamers
Budget: Under $100
“As for the Pocket Player itself, it’s got a compact design that’s perfect for portable gaming. The Pocket Player needs either four AAA batteries or a micro-USB cable with a USB port in order to work.”
“(Rolling Thunder) itself is pretty unremarkable but seems like a decent time waster.”
Perfect for: Traveling gamers. Office workers who need a time-waster when the boss isn’t hovering around.
Budget: Under $50
