5 Ways To Kill Time In Just Cause 3

Leading a revolution to overthrow a fascist dictator is hard work, sometimes you need to blow off steam, and have a bit of shameless fun with the citizens of Medici. Just Cause 3 provides an abundance of distractions for you to get lost in, there’s no shortage of ways to kill off an hour. Here are five things you can do to in Just Cause 3 to waste a whole bunch of time, feel free to let us know what off the rails fun you like to have in the comments.

1 – Compete In Leaderboard Activities

Most activities are tracked through a live, online leaderboard. If you’re the competitive type, you can spend hours trying to beat other people’s milestones; I wasted half an hour just trying to score the longest wingsuit glide by taking a helicopter to the highest point and jumping. There’s even ranks in each leaderboard challenge you compete in, the more you do that activity, the more you’ll rank up and you can see how you fare against the rest of the world live. It’s satisfying to watch your name climb above others while you play. The ‘call out’ feature lets you challenge your friends to take on your high score. This is a great addition to a game void of any multiplayer, it allows us to continue one-upping our friends for bragging rights.

 2 – Tinker With Grappling Hook/Tow Cable

The improved grappling hook, combined with ridiculous physics, makes for a great way to have some mischievous fun. If you’re in the mood to raise a little hell, grab your tow cable and attach a car to your helicopter, use it as a wrecking ball. You can use the tow cable to test how far a civilian can be launched too. Sometimes I just latch onto a moving car while parachuting and enjoy the view. There are so many ways you can use your hook to manipulate the game world, you just have to be creative.

3 – Hunt For Easter Eggs

Easter eggs are scattered everywhere, some are funny and some can also help you out of a bind. Finding them all can be an arduous task but they do add some flare to the missions. Check out our guide to some of the Easter egg locations if you need guidance on finding them, there are also many that haven’t been discovered. It’s a good thing there’s so many intuitive gamers out there, that have a keen eye for spotting them.

4 – Collect All The Gear Mods

Gear mods are acquired through various challenges presented throughout the map. They unlock special upgrades to Rico Rodriguez, allowing you to add destruction, explosives, tether and vehicle mods. Many allow for faster tethering, more tow cables, instant grenades and other wonderful perks. It’s beneficial to find gear mods early, they help you liberate towns with ease.

5 – Blow Everything Up

Create senseless mayhem with your remote mines ‘just cause’ you can. Bridges are extra fragile and it doesn’t take much to make them collapse, this can spell out great fun for derailing an oncoming train. Also, call me a pyromaniac but every time I walk past a gas station, my conscience begs me to drop a mine or two and watch the screen light up like Christmas.
