Yoshi’s Cookie wasn’t the first puzzle game starring the green dinosaur. The titular title has player matching different Mario foes from Boo to Piranha Plants. It’s a surprisingly fun time, and the competitive multiplayer would work great online.
The first console title for Kirby is a great one. Kirby’s Adventure established the pink fluffball’s signature inhale ability and features some of the best platforming on the NES. The game has aged phenomenally well over the years, and anyone who enjoyed Kirby Star Allies would also have a blast with this.
Few even remember that Tetris 2 was a thing, and there’s certainly a licensing issue in bringing it back out, but this Tetris variant is quite interesting in retrospect. Rather than making horizontal lines, this puzzle game had players matching colors. It’s a completely different twist on a familiar formula, and it’d be great to see it get another shot at shining.
