10 Great Moments From Microsoft’s E3 2016 Press Conference

Dead Rising 4

While the gameplay footage for Days Gone felt like yet another zombie game, Dead Rising 4‘s trailer had a hook and an attitude that left a dumb smile on my face. Frank West is back, it’s Christmas time, and he’s going to kill some zombies in amazingly stupid ways. Dead Rising 4 looks to be a complete blast, and I’m surprisingly psyched for another zombie game.

Tekken 7

The Tekken series has long been associated with PlayStation, so it was pretty surprising to see the incredibly enthusiastic Katsuhiro Harada onstage. Harada showed off a brand new story trailer for Tekken 7, and it looks like Bandai Namco is taking a few cues from NetherRealm on how to create a story mode. Fights and cutscenes will seamlessly blend together, and I can’t wait to see what crazy direction this takes the beloved series in.

We Happy Few

It’s always great to see indie games get the spotlight on the big stage, and Compulsion Games made the best out of their time. The footage they showed from their first-person psychological thriller We Happy Few was truly captivating. The Xbox One title launches on Xbox Game Preview on July 26, and after such a good demo I’m sure many will be taking the plunge.

General Raam in Killer Instinct

Killer Instinct continues to become a completely ridiculous fighting game, and it’s quickly becoming Microsoft’s Super Smash Bros. equivalent. Raam is also a great pick to represent Gears of War in the 2D fighting game, as he’s one of the few recognizable enemies in the franchise, and one that adapts well to KI’s style of combat. Iron Galaxy is still providing surprises in the third season of their fighting game, and hopefully this won’t be the last guest appearance.
