For those unfamiliar with the game, Montabi combines creature collecting, deckbuilding, and tactical turn-based combat. Players must build a team of unique creatures, known as Montabi, train them, and evolve their abilities to take on the X Gang and save the city.

Building the right team is a big part of the experience, as each Montabi comes with its own skills and cards. Players can combine these abilities with different equipment and charms to create strategies that suit their playstyle. Training also plays an important role, allowing creatures to learn new moves, evolve into stronger forms, and unlock additional cards.

Combat takes place on a 3×3 grid, making positioning and card selection equally important when facing opponents. Players can also choose from different trainers, each offering a distinct approach to battle, including close-range combat, positioning, and support. However, there’s a catch: if your trainer gets knocked out, the entire run comes to an end.

Montabi features 22 starter creatures, each with its own evolutionary line and deck, alongside more than 500 cards to discover.

With its combination of creature collecting and strategic deckbuilding, Montabi could be a nice addition to the Nintendo Switch 2’s physical library. Collectors and fans of the genre can now head to the Nejcraft Store to secure their copy.
