Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Is Coming to Switch 2
Cygames and Arc System Works Co. have announced that Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will receive its Version 2.60 update on September 17, bringing a fresh wave of content to players across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam. The same day will also mark the game’s long-awaited launch on Nintendo Switch 2, giving even more players a chance to jump into the anime-inspired fighting game.

The biggest highlight of the Version 2.60 update is the arrival of Id as a new playable DLC fighter. Fans of Granblue Fantasy: Relink will recognize him as the powerful swordsman who once stood against the crew before undergoing a dramatic transformation. In Versus: Rising, Id brings his draconic abilities into battle, adding another unique fighter to the roster.
The update also introduces the brand-new Ainsteddo Archipelago stage, along with a new gameplay system mechanic, character balance adjustments, and several additional improvements. Cygames says more details about these features will be shared closer to launch.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch 2 edition will debut with the complete 40-character roster, including all previously released DLC fighters and Id. Players can also enjoy local multiplayer communication, Story Mode, and the popular Figure Studio from day one.
Players who own save data from Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok, launching on July 9, will be able to unlock exclusive rewards in GBVSR starting September 17. These include an Id weapon skin and a special Lyria lobby avatar.
With a major content update, a brand-new platform release, and bonus crossover rewards arriving together, September 17 is shaping up to be an exciting day for Granblue Fantasy fans. If you want to learn more about the title before diving in, then check out our official review right here!
