It’s Almost Time to Race With Umamusume: Pretty Derby
Cygames has announced that Umamusume: Pretty Derby will serve as an official event partner for the 2026 FIM MotoGP World Championship Round 16 MOTUL Grand Prix of Japan. The event will take place at Mobility Resort Motegi from October 2 to 4. The cool part is that this is the first time a video game has partnered with the prestigious racing event.
As one of the world’s premier two-wheeled racing championships, MotoGP attracts top riders and manufacturers across 18 countries. The Japanese Grand Prix remains one of the biggest stops on the calendar, making this collaboration a historic milestone for both motorsports and gaming.
Fans attending the event will spot a massive 155-meter display near the race circuit featuring eight popular Umamusume characters. This includes Vodka, Daiwa Scarlet, Oguri Cap, Almond Eye, and Lucky Lilac. The display will remain on-site through November 8, while themed photo spots at the venue’s central entrance will be available during the race weekend.
The celebration continues on October 4 with a special appearance by Tomoyo Takayanagi, the voice of Oguri Cap. She will wave the checkered flag at the Moto3 and Moto2 races. Hence, adding a memorable anime-inspired touch to the weekend’s on-track action.
The 2026 MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix concludes with the premier MotoGP race on October 4, bringing together elite riders for one of the season’s most anticipated championship battles.
This unique crossover blends the excitement of high-speed racing with one of Japan’s biggest gaming franchises. It will surely give fans something special to look forward to at Motegi.
