Global entertainment company HoYoverse has announced a new round of closed beta testing for its upcoming adventure strategy title, Honkai: Nexus Anima. The “Evolution Test” is set to begin on July 9, 2026, across PC, Android, and iOS, giving selected players an early look at the game’s expanding world and systems.
As a fresh entry in the Honkai series, Nexus Anima introduces a unique setting built around the concept of the “Nexus,” a force that once balanced opposing aspects such as light and dark or love and hate. Following its collapse, fragments of this power transformed into living creatures known as Animas. Players will be able to bond with these beings, using their abilities not only in strategic combat scenarios but also throughout exploration.
The test places players in the role of a plane traveler who escapes captivity and begins their journey in the town of Iya. This location serves as a central hub, filled with detailed environments, key landmarks, and factions that shape the story. Along the way, players will encounter companions like Nanafey, Bai Mei, and Olympia, while uncovering deeper truths about the fractured world.
A major highlight of the test is the Anima system, which allows players to capture, evolve, and even personalize their creatures. From naming them to photographing memorable moments, the bond between player and Anima plays a central role in progression. Rare variants, including chromatic Animas, also add an extra layer of discovery.
This limited closed beta will be accessible through a selection process, with participants chosen from those who register in advance. Overall, this test looks like an important step in shaping Nexus Anima into a more immersive and character-driven experience.
