Version Luna IV Is Coming to Genshin Impact
HoYoverse will release Genshin Impact Version Luna IV, ‘A Traveler on a Winter’s Night’, on January 14, opening the game’s first major update of 2026. The update introduces Columbina and Zibai as playable characters and revives the Lantern Rite in Liyue with festive rewards. All while driving the Nod Krai storyline toward its long-awaited confrontation with Il Dottore. At the same time, the world expands north for the first time. This will allow players to explore Piramida, the headquarters of the Lightkeepers.
As tensions in Nod Krai reach their peak, the latest Archon Quest delivers its dramatic conclusion. Empowered by the Moonmarch, Il Dottore pushes his research beyond restraint and draws the Traveler into a twisted battlefield where the laws of reality no longer hold. Completing the quest unlocks a new outfit for the Traveler, offering deeper insight into their personal journey and evolving control over elemental power.
Columbina, known as the Moon Maiden, enters the battlefield as a five-star Hydro catalyst character who excels at Moonglow reactions. She supports the team from off-field with coordinated attacks and a lunar area that enhances reaction damage. Version Luna IV also introduces Moon Crystallization, a new Geo and Hydro reaction that summons moon cages to strike nearby enemies with Geo damage and potential critical hits. Zibai, a legendary adept from Liyue and a five-star Geo sword user, builds on this system. He enters a special state that unleashes increasingly powerful attacks as Moon Crystallization triggers more frequently.
Beyond combat, Version Luna IV continues the conflict against the Wild Hunt through new world quests set in Piramida. The Liyue’s Lantern Rite also returns with heartfelt stories, mini games, and generous rewards. Players can earn Primogems, Intertwined Fates, outfits, and even invite a four-star Liyue character for free.
