22cans has officially announced a closed beta playtest for Masters of Albion, offering players an early chance to experience its evolving gameplay. As development continues, the studio is actively seeking feedback from participants to help fine-tune systems and shape the final release.

Masters of Albion

Masters of Albion presents an ambitious take on the god game formula, blending strategy, simulation, town management, and tower defense into a single experience. The journey begins in the humble village of Oakridge, where players take on the role of a god. They will guide the growth of a settlement, managing its people and running small businesses while fulfilling various requests.

The game expands beyond traditional city building by introducing a narrative-driven structure. Players can step directly into the lives of villagers, exploring the world from their perspective, completing quests, battling threats, and uncovering hidden secrets scattered across Albion.

Gameplay shifts between two distinct phases. Daytime focuses on creativity and progression, allowing players to build, customize, and interact with the world. Nightfall brings danger, as towns face relentless attacks from monsters, requiring careful planning and defense.

The game takes place in a world where magic is slowly returning after being overshadowed by technology. Players must harness divine powers, protect Albion’s people, and confront a rising ancient threat tied to the mysterious Mask. So, do you think you can take on this challenge? Sign up now for the playtest and find out for yourself.
