New Features Await in MENACE
Hooded Horse and Overhype Studios have announced a major milestone for their sci-fi turn-based tactics title MENACE, revealing that the game has surpassed 250,000 copies sold since launching in early access this February. The strong early reception highlights growing interest in the game’s strategic combat and evolving content roadmap.

To mark the occasion, the developers have rolled out a fresh update that expands the experience with new missions, additional loot, and a small but notable gameplay addition that lets infantry units cut through wire fences. The update introduces a new Pirate mission titled “Eliminate Leadership,” where players must take down a Pirate Captain and their crew in the final stage of the Pirate Invasion operation. Those who succeed may walk away with the captain’s unique weapon and armor.
On the alien front, a new mission called “Corrupt Xeno DNA” replaces the previous Hive Queen finale. This scenario challenges players to infiltrate a dense settlement and destroy a nest of xeno eggs, shifting the focus toward tighter environments and close-quarters encounters.
The update also improves environmental variety by adding new ruins from a long-lost civilization to the desert planet Mock. These additions help make maps feel more distinct, with further updates planned for other locations. Alongside this, the developers released seven new 3D weapon models for greater visual diversity.
MENACE is currently available in early access on PC via Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store, and is also included in PC Game Pass under the Game Preview program.
