He is Coming adds real-time PvP, bringing direct player battles to the game

Challenge Your Friends in He Is Coming

Hooded Horse and Chronocle have announced a major update for the fantasy RPG auto-battler He is Coming, introducing a real-time PvP mode that allows players to challenge one another directly. Until now, competition existed only through Kingmaker, a system where powerful builds were uploaded to the cloud as ghost data. The new mode shifts the experience toward live competition, giving players the chance to test their strategies against friends in tense one-on-one encounters.

The format unfolds across a series of three to five stages. Both participants begin on the same map seed, yet their journeys will differ based on the choices they make. Each player decides which direction to explore, which mobs to engage, and how to shape their build from the loot gathered along the way. Once a stage ends, the two runs collide in a head-to-head showdown that replaces the usual boss fights from the PVE experience. A best-of-five structure decides the winner, and the first player to claim three wins secures the match.

The update arrives during a strong early access period for the title. Since its July launch, He is Coming has surpassed 170000 copies sold, showing the steady attention it has drawn from fans of strategy-driven RPG systems.

He is Coming is available on PC through Steam Early Access for $ 19.99 USD, £ 17.99 GBP, € 19.99 EUR, or ¥ 1980.00 JPY. A 50% discount is currently active until December 8, 2025. The game is also available via PC Game Pass, giving players another way to begin exploring its evolving content.
