Crossout Unleashes “Tales: Rust & Dust” Event With High-Risk Survival Twist

Faster Progression and Real Risk Awaits in Crossout

Gaijin Entertainment has rolled out a new limited-time event for Crossout, introducing a fresh way to experience its harsh wasteland. Titled “Crossout Tales: Rust and Dust,” this special mode puts all players on equal footing by resetting progression and letting everyone start from scratch, while significantly speeding up how quickly they advance.

In this mode, players collect a unique resource called spare parts, which they can trade for vehicle components and cosmetic items. The rarity ceiling is capped at Epic, keeping the focus grounded in a gritty, low-tech post-apocalyptic setting rather than high-end futuristic weaponry. This design makes the event appealing to longtime players looking to relive the early days of building scrappy armored cars, while also offering newcomers a faster and more accessible way to experiment with different builds and strategies.

Risk plays a major role in “Rust and Dust.” Players can lose powerful parts during battles, raising the stakes for every encounter and making each win feel more rewarding. At the same time, the boosted progression system helps players recover quickly, ensuring that losses do not slow things down for too long.

Alongside the event, the developers also released a new battle pass, offering rewards for both the limited-time mode and the main game. Highlights include the Iron Sarcophagus armored vehicle blueprint and the new Stronghold cabin, which provides defensive bonuses when damaging enemies. Players can also pick up the Traveller pack, featuring a unique vehicle and additional parts.

The event runs until June 3, giving players a limited window to dive into this stripped-down, high-risk version of the wasteland.
