Join the Battles in Auto Dungeon
Independent studio Blüd Brüther has rolled out the first major update for Auto Dungeon on Steam, bringing a fresh layer of depth and variety to its evolving gameplay.
The update introduces a new system called the Compendium. It’s a collection of unlockable challenges that rewards players with new cards upon completion. Each card adds a unique twist to future runs, sometimes subtly shifting mechanics and other times dramatically changing how a playthrough unfolds. Alongside this, the update expands the arsenal with more than 25 new weapon types, giving players additional ways to experiment and refine their strategies.
At its core, Auto Dungeon blends roguelite progression with autobattler mechanics in a procedurally generated dungeon world. Players gather cards through combat and exploration. Then they can use them to summon, fuse, mutate, and capture creatures inspired by classic RPG archetypes. The fusion system remains one of the game’s standout features. This allows players to combine units repeatedly into strange and powerful forms with distinct traits, stats, and unexpected synergies.
With around 50 handcrafted units and countless mutation possibilities, each run offers something different. The system encourages experimentation, often leading to creative builds that can push the game’s mechanics in surprising ways.
The world itself unfolds on a grid-based layout, dynamically generating rooms, dungeons, and structures as players move forward. By placing units within tiles and engaging enemies in adjacent rooms, players navigate a constantly shifting battlefield that keeps every run engaging and unpredictable.
