Space Engineers 2 Gets ‘Smoother, Stable & Faster’ Major Update

Space Engineers 2 Just Got So Much Better

Keen Software House has released a new major update called “Smoother, Stable & Faster” for Space Engineers 2. And as the name suggests, the update focuses on improving the overall experience for players during the game’s ongoing Early Access Alpha development.

The “Smoother, Stable & Faster” update introduces several quality-of-life improvements, including a redesigned Save Game Screen that separates autosaves from manual saves. Players can also expect a refined Flight HUD, a new Safe Speed Limiter, improved hardware detection, and a range of performance and stability improvements.

Keen Software House has also worked on several areas that could affect longer play sessions. The update improves performance across menus and the UI, blueprint previews and pasting, large grids, grid deletion, and destruction. These changes should make the game feel more responsive, particularly when dealing with larger creations.

The beginning of the Almagest System has also received some attention. New players will get clearer early contracts, easier access to nearby resources, improved respawn guidance, and an unfinished rover that they can experiment with. Nighttime visibility on Verdure has also been improved to make exploration a little easier.

The update is available now for Space Engineers 2 on Steam as part of its Early Access Alpha. Keen Software House has also added new exclusive content to the Pioneer Edition, with more behind-the-scenes materials and digital extras planned for the future.

Overall, this update looks like a solid step toward making Space Engineers 2 a smoother and more enjoyable experience as development continues.
